We teach skills that include but are not limited to:

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Language/Communication
  • Social skills
  • Behavior
  • Functional skills
  • Sensory Desensitization
  • Academics
  • Play skills

Starting ABA Therapy as soon as possible after a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder typically produces the best results, and the progress can be more profound compared to when therapy begins at an older age. In some cases, children who enter an Early Intervention ABA program are able to generalize into a neuro-typical classroom when they reach school-age.

Speech-Language Therapy

Speech Therapy goes hand in hand with ABA Therapy to address the communication deficiencies that are often present in children on the Autism spectrum. Speech-language therapy is designed to coordinate the mechanics of speech with the meaning and social use of language. Click the Contact Us button below for more information.

Building vocabulary, facilitating spontaneous verbal communication/conversation, or teaching alternate forms of communication for non-verbal children are among the core goals of adding Speech-Language therapy to your child’s ABA curriculum.

Occupational Therapy

Our Southeast Florida location provides Speech and Language Pathology, and Occupational therapy as added services to our ABA Therapy clients. If Behavior Development Group does not offer Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy in your area, we can offer referral resources for these services. Occupational therapy addresses a combination of cognitive, physical, and motor skills. Its goals including helping a child or adult gain age-appropriate independence and participate more fully in life. For a person with autism, occupational therapy often focuses on skills for appropriate play or leisure skills, learning and self-care skills.

As with our ABA Therapy programs, each child’s Speech and Occupational Therapy treatment plans are created specifically to that child’s unique abilities. We always begin with an assessment/evaluation to determine a baseline, which allows the ongoing therapy and data collected to accurately reflect progress in each focus area.
